The purpose is to celebrate the centennial of the founding of the Niagara Movement and to recommit to the continuing struggle for social justice.

The Movement's  “1905 Declaration of Principles” will be read at the press conference, and some stakeholders will present a 2005 “Declaration of Principles.”

National and local groups will be represented at the press conference.
